To deter snatching and robbery incidents executed by three-wheeler gangs, the traffic police have asked the auto drivers to install number plates on all side of the vehicle.

The police held a meeting with the three-wheeler drivers and number plate writers at police lines on Wednesday.
Traffic inspector Vinod Kumar said the number should be written in prescribed fonts and size.
He further added that with number plates all around the vehicle, passengers could easily note down the vehicle number before boarding or while alighting from the vehicle, which would help trace the accused in case of loot or snatching incident.
He said the three-wheeler associations are ready to implement it.
The inspector also asked the number plate writers to keep a photo copy of registration certificate with them before writing a number plate.
