Bathinda: PRTC pensioners hold a protest rally at bus stand

Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) Pensioners Association held a protest rally against PRTC's administration. The pensioners were demanding the release of pensions that have been pending for past three months along with dues.

The rally was held in the premises of the bus stand and the association gave a memorandum to traffic manager of PRTC Bathinda JS Chahal.

Gurbachan Singh Jassi, general secretary of the association said that they had submitted an affidavit in the Punjab and Haryana high court following which the HC had directed PRTC to release all the pending dues before March 31, but it had not happened till yet. He further said that pensions from the month of February have not been released yet.

"PRTC administrators are indulging in contempt of high court orders regarding release of pensions," said PS Brar, vice-president, PRTC Pensioners Association adding that they will stage a state-level protest on May 13 at PRTC headquarters in Patiala.
