Bomb scare in Chandigarh as Sec-33 resident spots ‘grenade’

Panic gripped the city after a Sector-33 resident claimed to have spotted a ‘grenade’ on Wednesday evening. The police reached the spot and cordoned off the residential area, with a team of the operational cell and crime branch officials also joining in. Later, the army was called in.

Sector 34 SHO Baljeet Singh said, “It is difficult to comment on the exact nature of the substance found. We are going through CCTV footage to ascertain the identity of the person who left the ‘grenade’ on the wall.”
