Around midnight, the BSF personnel of 105 Battalion noticed a suspicious movement of some people along the border fence. On being challenged, they fired at the BSF troops.

The troops also opened fire in self-defence, but the smugglers escaped taking cover of the fog and darkness.

When the BSF men searched the area, 13 packets of heroin, each weighing 1kg, a pistol, a magazine and four cartridges were found from near the fence.

DIG (intelligence) RPS Jaswal gave this information.
