'Captain had warned me not to trust Badals'

The event is being organised by Amarinder’s son Raninder Singh, president of the National Rifle Association of India.
Punjab Congress president Amarinder’s brother Malwinder had joined the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) before the January 30 assembly elections in protest against the allotment of the Congress ticket from Samana to Raninder.
Malwinder, who has openly expressed his displeasure at being sidelined by the SAD, fired another salvo at chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and SAD president Sukhbir Badal. “I don’t expect anything from them. When I was going to join the SAD, my brother had advised me not to trust the Badals. Now, I have realised that he had told me the truth,” said Malwinder, though he made it clear that he would not leave the SAD till the CM asked him to do so.
Ironically, Amarinder had also been in the SAD before he joined the Congress.
“I joined the SAD because of my faith in Parkash Singh Badal’s words and the SAD’s policies. Now, I feel that they talk more and act less,” said Malwinder.
Taking about Amarinder, he said, “He is my elder brother and the head of the family. I always consult him on family matters, though my political decisions are my own.”
Reacting to Malwinder’s statement, the Captain said, “It’s he (Malwinder) who has to decide his future course of action. I can’t tell what is on his mind.”
