City doctor clears European Diploma in Intensive Care

City doctor Dr Rabinder Singh Sobti has cleared European Diploma in Intensive Care (EDIC) exam organised by the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM) at Hammersmith Hospital, London, on June 6. Dr Sobti, a resident of Ladowal village, is one of the youngest doctors in the world to clear it, Sobti's examiner said.

Dr Sobti, who is a consultant in critical care unit at city's Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, received the certificate from ESICM earlier this week."I am happy that I have cleared the exam in first attempt. I know it is a rare feat," Dr Sobti said.Preferring to pursue his goal in Ludhiana, Dr Sobti said: "It's a growing city with increasing medical facilities."

In 2010, he topped the All-India Examination of Critical Care Medicine conducted by National Board of Examination, Dwarka, New Delhi
