The march, led by former minster Chiranji Lal Garg, and councillor in the Bathinda municipal corporation Jagroop Singh Gill, passed through different parts of the city. Congress leaders alleged that the Punjab government was trying to sabotage the rally by using the state power as transporters are being threatened not to provide buses for ferrying people to the rally venue. The leaders alleged that appointment of Amarinder Singh as Punjab Congress president has frustrated the SAD so the party was trying to thwart the rally by all means.
