Science & technology secretary T Ramasami, in his inaugural address at Maharshi Dayanand University's 'Science Conclave 2014', said science leads to empowerment, adding it is hence imperative to inculcate a scientific mind among people.
"Science is a way of life and is a pursuit of excellence," he said and called youngsters the future of the country.
Science and technology department's scientific adviser A Mukhopadhyay, who also spoke on the occasion, lauded the state government for promoting science in the state.
In his address vice chancellor HS Chahal said exchange of scientific ideas help in the advancement of society.
