In a press release, CPI (M) state secretary Inderjit Singh said that six legislators were already in jail and half-a-dozen more were facing criminal charges. Mocking at the decline in political standards, he warned that the next assembly session could be organised on jail premises if the trend persisted.

Singh also pushed for sacking members of constitutional bodies once they were convicted, citing the example of Harinder Pal Rana, Haryana Public Service Comission member who had been sentenced to seven-year imprisonment in an attempt-to-murder case.

Supporting the recent strike by the Haryana Roadways employees, the party demanded that the proposed privatisation of 3,519 routes should be withdrawn.
