Day after, abandoned newborn’s parents still untraceable

A day after newborn was found abandoned barely hours after her birth in Phase 3 here, police are questioning midwives in and around the area to trace the parents.
The infant was found wrapped in a cloth and packed in a plastic bag from a public toilet at a park in Phase 3 on Friday.

She is being looked after two staff teams of civil hospital.
The child is healthy and the social welfare department has been informed. She is named as ‘Pari’, while some are calling her ‘Sweety’.
It was around 12.45pm that Mathuri Lal, entrusted with the upkeep of the toilet, found her after he heard her cries.
