“The ongoing PU semester exams will continue as per schedule. Some mischievous elements are spreading rumours of postponement (due to the fire),” said Parvinder Singh, controller of examinations.
“Students are requested to ignore rumours and focus on their studies,” he said.
The university sent back its non-teaching employees due to safety assessment of the administrative block.
There are 4,000 non- teaching employees at PU.
PU registrar Col GS Chadha (retd) said employees will be called when required. The Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) team visited the university again to collect samples from the fire site.
The administrative block still smells of smoke.
