DC conducts surprise raids

Barnala deputy commissioner Kavita Singh on Saturday conducted surprise raids on schools, dispensaries and grain markets across several villages. While checking the schools, DC and her team found shortage of teachers in many institutes, absent teachers and indiscipline among students.

Barnala deputy commissioner Kavita Singh on Saturday conducted surprise raids on schools, dispensaries and grain markets across several villages.

While checking the schools, DC and her team found shortage of teachers in many institutes, absent teachers and indiscipline among students. She also inspected mid-day meal conditions in the schools.

Singh warned that strict action would be taken against teachers found absent without leave. She further instructed teachers to prepare proper attendance records and grants utilisation record in schools.

During checking of grain markets, the DC found officials of purchasing agency absent from grain market of village Aaspal Khurd. She directed officials to take action against erring staff and to start wheat purchase with immediate effect. She said such raid would be conducted in the future also.
