Efforts on to contain swine flu: Health minister

Himachal health & family welfare minister Kaul Singh Thakur said Thursday the state government was doing its best to control the swine flu epidemic that has assumed alarming proportions in the country.

Himachal health & family welfare minister Kaul Singh Thakur said Thursday the state government was doing its best to control the swine flu epidemic that has assumed alarming proportions in the country. Addressing a school function in Patta village, he said: “Adequate steps have been made to keep the disease in check and proper facilities have been provided at the medical colleges and hospitals in Shimla and Tanda.”

He said 'gram panchayats' found to be promoting the cause of girl children would be honoured and given cash prizes. “The government is spending Rs 4,284 crore for education and related activities in the state during the current financial year,” he added.
