Eight Mansa cops suspended for fake NDPS case

Mansa senior superintendent of police Bhupinder Singh Khattra on Friday suspended eight policemen for registering a false case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act against a Bhikhi-based chemist.

Mansa senior superintendent of police Bhupinder Singh Khattra on Friday suspended eight policemen for registering a false case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act against a Bhikhi-based chemist.

The suspended personnel include sub-inspector Gurdarshan Singh, assistant sub-inspectors Jaswant Singh, Balbir Singh, and Bhagwant Singh, head constables Rampal Singh, Karnail Singh and Sukhwinder Singh, and constable Gurdev Singh.

On August 10, 2013, Mansa had police had booked chemist Ashok Kumar under the NDPS Act and shown that 5,900 narcotic tablets and Rs 26,000 had been recovered from Kumar.
