The accused, ASI Iqbal Hussain, was arrested during a trap that was laid following a complaint by Gurpreet Singh of Mannuke Gill village in Nihal Singh Wala tehsil (Moga district). Gurpreet had alleged that the cop was demanding bribe to settle a complaint case in his favour.
Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Surinder Kumar led the VB team that arrested the ASI and registered a case under sections 7 and 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, at the VB police station, Ferozepur, a spokesman said here.
