The weather department said monsoons, which had remained suspended from July 4 to July 11, have now entered Chandigarh and other parts of Punjab. The normal date for the arrival of monsoons is June 29. This time they were delayed by 13 days.

In 1987, the delay was even longer and the monsoons had arrived a month late. The weather department had gone wrong with many predictions regarding rains in the last few days, but this time it was spot on.
