A team of the CIA (crime investigation agency) claimed to have arrested five members of a gang, accused of bike lifting and looting liquor vends in Mansa, on Sunday.

The team also recovered 14 two-wheelers from their possession. Mansa CIA staff in-charge Jagdish Sharma said the gang participated in gatka competitions to masquerade their real acts.

“The accused, identified as Vichittar Singh, Sukhchain Singh, Bhajan Singh, Gurjeet Singh and Talwinder Singh, had looted six liquor vends in Mansa district in the last three months. They used to contact the liquor vendors during the day to place an order and attacked them in the evening. They smuggled the liquor within a few hours,” said Sharma.

Meanwhile, the gang has two other members out of which, one is behind bars in Bathinda and the other is still absconding.
