The city police on Sunday claimed to have busted a flesh trade racket in Sant Nagar with the arrest of five persons, including three women.

Acting on a tip-off that a brothel was operating in Sant Nagar, a police team conducted a raid there and arrested Balvir Kaur, Sukhwinder Kaur, Bhupinder Singh, Rekha and Inderjit Singh, assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Ravinder Pal Singh said.

The preliminary interrogation of the accused revealed that Balvir Kaur was the kingpin of the racket and her daughter Sukhwinder Kaur and son Bhupinder Singh were involved in it, said the ACP. He said Inderjit Singh was a customer who had given Rs 2,000 to Balvir Kaur for Rekha.
