Former councillor Dhall attacked by undertrials in Kapurthala jail

Former Jalandhar councillor Dinesh Dhall, who was sent in judicial custody by a Jalandhar court on Saturday, received injuries after being attacked by some undertrials as soon as he entered modern jail premises at Theh Kanjla near here. Jail superintendent SP Khanna said that five-six undertrials in the modern jail attacked Dhall due to old enmity.

"Dhall got minor injuries and was shifted to jail hospital for treatment. We managed to control the situation. After proper medical examination, whatever legal action would be possible against those who attacked him will be taken," Khanna added.

Kotwali SHO Naresh Joshi also reached the spot after being sounded by the jail administration. Further investigations are on.
