Former MC chief seeks exemption from personal appearance

Proprietor of Jan Shri Art Virat Sapra on Saturday appeared in a Phillaur court in connection with the charges of insulting the national flag.
Judicial magistrate Parwinder Kaur had issued summons against Sapra, former municipal council president Tirath Ram Sandhu and former executive officer Jagtaran Singh taking cognisance of a complaint filed under Section 156(3) of the CrPC.
Sapra filed an application before the court seeking bail which was accepted on surety of Rs 25,000.
