The international tournament will take place in Antalya, Turkey, from June 8-16.

This is for the first time that four archers from the university's archery wing - Kanwalpreet Singh, Trisha Deb, Madhu Vaidwan and Supriya - have made it to an international tournament.

Archery coach Jiwanjot Singh said the archers had earlier participated in various international, national and inter-university competitions and won several medals for the university.

Trisha Deb and Madhu are students of Khalsa College, an affiliated college of Punjabi University; while Supriya is pursuing physical education course at National College of Physical Education; whereas Chupki and Kanwalpreet Singh, who hail from Amritsar, are studying at Akal Degree College, Mastuana Sahib.

Gagandeep Kaur, an international archer, is also a product of the university archery wing. She had won a bronze medal in the last Commonwealth games.

Director sports of Punjabi University Rajkumar Sharma congratulated the players and support staff for their achievement.
