A rescue team airlifted four persons - who went missing with the vehicle they were travelling in at Rohtang Pass on Saturday - from Rakshas Dhank to Sissu on Tuesday. The rescued persons are said to be under observation, but out of danger.

Divulging information, Keylong sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Prashant Sarkaik the vehicle had come to the office of Lahaul and Spiti deputy commissioner with the supply of electronics instrument from the Himachal Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation, Shimla, on December 21.
On its way back from Keylong, the vehicle which was ferrying four passengers, including agriculture extension officer, Keylong, Roop Lal, an engineer, clerk Jitender and driver Thapa, was stuck in snow at Rohtang Pass.
On Monday night, he further said, when a BSNL tower started functioning, contact was established with the missing passengers and it was learnt that they were safe and sound.
The four passengers were airlifted by a helicopter from Rakshas Dhank to Sissu on Tuesday, said the SDM, adding that the adverse weather conditions gave a tough time to the rescue team.
Despite cold weather conditions, rescue operations were launched from both sides - Koksar and Marhi - to search the missing passengers, he added.
When contacted, Dr Sushil, district health officer, said all the rescued passengers were under observation, but out of danger.
