The girls in schools, colleges and other recognised institutes of the state would get free travel passes, state transport minister Aftab Ahmed stated in a press release issued here on Tuesday. The institutes affiliated with any university or board in the state are included.

The educational, coaching, study, and distance-learning, and franchise centres of Hartron and other bodies affiliated with the universities of other states and not recognised by the Haryana government were not covered under the policy, said the minister.

The passes will be issued for a maximum limit of 60 kilometres for half year on the recommendation of the authorities of the school, college, or institution concerned. The institutes concerned will supply to the Haryana Roadways depot concerned a list of the girl students along with an attested copy of the recognition or affiliation certificate issued by the competent authority.

The general manager concerned or an officer designated by this authority will issue the passes based on the list received from the institutions.
