Government College for Girls received a written approval from Panjab University, Chandigarh, for three new courses on Thursday. The new courses are MCom, MSc information technology and post-graduate diploma in computer applications (PGDCA). The college has also received approval for BBA first-year having 40 seats.

For MCom, PU has approved 30 seats, for MSc IT 30 and 40 for PGDCA. The college will conduct admissions for BBA first-year on July 21, while those for MSc-IT, PGDCA and MCom will be held on July 23. Students can submit forms for MSc-IT and PGDCA till July 19.
Talking to Hindustan Times, Gurminder Kaur, principal, said, "This is the first time that the college got such a large number of courses since its inception in 1943."
