Groom, relatives leave wedding in Jalandhar over ‘epileptic’ bride

High drama was witnessed after a bridegroom and his family members allegedly left the wedding midway at Daulatpuri locality late Saturday claiming that the bride was suffering from epilepsy. On Sunday morning, the bride’s relatives were arguing with the groom’s sister in-law near the Domoria railway bridge following which police took them to a police post.

On Sunday morning, the bride’s relatives were arguing with the groom’s sister in-law near the Domoria railway bridge following which police took them to a police post.

The police investigated the incident and called up the groom’s family from Dharmakot in Moga district on Monday.

Reports said the marriage party came from Dharamkot in Moga on Saturday night.

The bride’s relatives alleged that she was not suffering from any illness and she was little tired and unwell. Surya Enclave police post in-charge Satnam Singh said they had called both parties on Monday.
