To check smuggling of drugs through trains, the government railway police (GRP) has decided to step up vigil at railway stations.

Additional director general of police, railways, Rajpal Meena said smugglers coming from Jammu Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan were on the radar of the GRP.
He further said in the past two months, as many as 123 cases had been registered under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and around 115 people were arrested at different railway stations.
In the past two months, the GRP seized 3.9 kg opium, 66 kg poppy husk, 15 kg ganja, 1 kg charas, 500 litres of liquor and 35 gm smack.
