Gurdaspur LS bypoll: BJP’s Salaria declares assets of over Rs 500 crore, banking on Modi
Salaria said Congress is a party of liars.
Swaran Salaria of the BJP filed his nomination papers for the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha bypoll on Friday. He was accompanied by BJP’s ally party SAD’s president and former deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, state BJP president Vijay Sampla, BJP’s state affairs in-charge Prabhat Jha, when he filed his papers at the DC office.
“I will contest elections on the basis of the policies of the central government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s enthusiasm and commitment for national development is unmatchable. Congress is a party of liars,” he said.
Vinod Khanna’s wife Kavita Khanna, who was also in fray for the BJP ticket, declared support for Salaria whom she accompanied. Ridiculing reports of friction, she said, “I respect the decision of the party high command and wish him good luck. I will wholeheartedly support him.”
