Health dept visits Ibrahim Basti, took water samples

Reacting to an exclusive report by HT on the non-functioning chlorinators at many water tube wells in Jalandhar on Tuesday, the health department swung into action and took water samples from localities across the city. The department also organised a health awareness camp at Ibrahim Basti.

Reacting to an exclusive report by HT on the non-functioning chlorinators at many water tube wells in Jalandhar on Tuesday, the health department swung into action and took water samples from localities across the city. The department also organised a health awareness camp at Ibrahim Basti.

A team comprising senior medical officer Dr Pritpal Singh, chief pharmacist Dr Jaswinder Singh, district health supervisor Shailender Singh visited the Basti and took six water samples.


The team members also counselled the residents on the reasons for the breakdown of any vector-borne disease and appealed to them to follow the guidelines to save themselves from the disease.
They also advised the resaidents to drink boiled water, till the time a chlorinator is installed at their tubewell.
