Health team reports found diarrhoea cases during medical camp

Nearly 80 cases of diarrhoea and gastroenteritis have been reported so far from the affected areas of Sherpur. From past one week, the health department is continuously organising these camps.
District epidemiologist Dr Anil Verma said, “During the camp, 98 patients were examined belonging to Muslim colony, Baba Deep Singh colony and adjoining areas. However, no case of gastroenteritis was reported on Tuesday, but four cases of mild diarrhoea were reported.”
Health teams from Slum Area Dispensary, Transport Nagar and CHC Sahnewal, surveyed Muslim Colony and Sherpur area. A total of 475 houses were visited. Some people were suffering from fever and their blood slides were also made for conducting malaria test. Tablets of chlorine, oral rehydration solution (ORS) packets and pamphlets were also distributed, added Dr Verma.
