"As I was going back from Delhi to Lahore by road, I decided to pay obeisance at Golden Temple. No visit to Amritsar is complete without a visit to the holy shrine," she told mediapersons during an informal chat.

She described Golden Temple as a "symbol of humanity" where people seek divine guidance. She said the shrine, whose foundation stone was laid by Mian Mir, a Muslim saint, was an abode where everyone bows his or her head.

She and her husband were honoured with 'siropas' and a replica of the Golden Temple. They were also given a set of religious books. Later, the couple left for Lahore via the Attari check post road.
