Income tax dept to clear pending cases by May 31

The income tax refunds worth lakhs of rupees for the financial years 2011-12 would be cleared by May 31, Nishi Singh, chief commissioner of the income tax department, said in a meeting held at income tax office, Rishi Nagar, here on Sunday.

Singh said all other pending cases would also be cleared as soon as possible. Since they relied on technological advanced system to carry out assignment, they would be able to clear all pending work in time.

She asked the officials concerned to get in action fast and come up with immediate solutions to issues so that people did not face any inconvenience.
