Industry slams civic body for charging change in land use fee
Even though the state government has made complete change in change in land use (CLU) fee rules, the municipal corporation (MC), which is still following the old rule, has come under the attack from the city industry.
Even though the state government has made complete change in change in land use (CLU) fee rules, the municipal corporation (MC), which is still following the old rule, has come under the attack from the city industry.
A delegation of Janta Nagar Small Scale Manufacturers' Association on Monday met additional commissioner Rishipal Singh regarding the matter and discussed in detail about the issue.
"To encourage industrial development in the city, the state government had notified that no CLU fee would be charged from the industrial units, which has given much needed relief to these units," said a delegation member.
The delegation led by Jaswinder Singh Thukral, president of the association, expressed surprise over the fact that Rishipal Singh, chief of building branch, himself did not know about the notification.
"It is ironical that MC officials themselves do not know about the change," said Thukral.
It is worth mentioning that earlier, industrial units, who intended to get the CLU, had to pay 5% of the collector rate as fee to the MC.
The new notification brought out the need to pay external development charges at a rate of `5.50 lakh per acre of the land where the industry is to be set up.
Thukral alleged that the MC was still demanding huge CFLU fee due to the lack of knowledge about the new notification.
Meanwhile, the additional commissioner has assured the delegation that he would look into the matter.
