Punjab deputy chief minister and Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Wednesday addressed rallies at Pehowa and Sirsa in favour of INLD candidates. At Pehowa, he urged the people to vote for INLD Kurukshetra candidate Balbir Saini.
He said that Congress had been routed in Punjab and now it was Haryana voters’ turn to do the same. He alleged that Congress was nothing but a ‘gang of looters’.
He said NDA would form the next government at the centre and INLD MPs would play a crucial role.
INLD state president Ashok Arora said that sitting MP and Congress candidate Naveen Jindal was befooling people of his constituency.
“He sets up his factories in Jharkhand, university in Sonepat and seeks votes in Kurukshetra,” Arora said. He said INLD chief Om Prakash Chautala and Ajay Chautala were behind bars for giving jobs to the poor.
“It was a conspiracy of the Congress as it thought that INLD would be weakened with the arrest of its leaders, but on the contrary it became stronger and today all section of society are supporting INLD,” Arora said.
At Odhan village in Sirsa, Sukhbir sought votes for INLD candidate Charanjit Singh Rori.
He said it became possible to send back Britishers only after the whole country got united and, now, it’s time to unite to throw out the corrupt Congress.
He said that Sikh voters should not forget the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. “During that time the then Congress government under Bhajan Lal had suppressed the Sikhs families in Haryana,” he said.
Sukhbir accused the Congress of ignoring Sirsa constituency during its 10-year rule. He said that Congress won’t be able to befool the people this time.
Attacking chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda , Sukhbir said that it seemed that Hooda was the CM of Rohtak and not Haryana.
“Congress is a sinking ship. It has no existence in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, Orissa, Chhattisgarh and Punjab. Now it will be thrown out of rest of the states,” he said.
