What are the biggest rewards of being fit?



The biggest reward is that all kinds of illnesses remain at bay. One feels energetic round the clock and it infuses so much confidence and positivity as well.



What is your motivation to stay fit?



My inner voice is my motivation. I used to be an obese teenager until I realised the significance of good health. Treat your body like a temple and once one starts making efforts to keep oneself fit, the difference can’t be expressed in mere words.



Can you share your fitness secret?



Despite hectic schedules, I make it a point to exercise everyday. I love going to the gym and am also very active in swimming, kick boxing and yoga. So, it helps me remain energetic despite my long shooting hours.



Any health myth you wish to clarify?



It is wrong to say that vegetarians can’t be fit. After all there are many options in vegetarian world as well for an overall body development.



What makes you cheat on your regular diet?



I love the red velvet cup cakes and the Swiss nutella which is so chocolaty. When I began eating these two things, it becomes really difficult for me to stop. This makes me cheat (laughs).

What are the biggest rewards of being fit?



If you are physically fit, you also become mentally strong, which silently helps one to face life with a cool mind despite any hurdles that come our way. Fitness plays a big role in keeping us happy.



What motivates you to stay fit?



Good life comes with good health. And, as I have always believed that fitness brings many joys and keeps our mind and soul content, it encourages me to make every possible effort to ensure perfection in my health and body.



Can you share your fitness secret?



It begins early in the morning. I drink a few glasses of water the moment I wake up, followed by lemon water during the day. As far as physical fitness is concerned, besides yoga and meditation, I go the gym regularly.



Any health myth you wish to clarify?

I have heard from many that green tea helps in digestion and helps in losing weight, but this will be helpful only if one drink lots of water during the day. Basically, water intake should be higher than green tea consumption.

What makes you cheat on your regular diet?

Chinese food as it’s my favourite. I also have a sweet tooth, so during special occasions, I skip the main course so that I can indulge on the desserts. Mom’s hand-made ‘rasmalai’ and ‘panjiri’ are my top favourities.

What are the biggest rewards of being fit?



A fit person is the one who enjoys sound sleep which benefits the body in many positive ways. You constantly enjoy higher energy levels, look better as the body matures and exercise makes you more self reliant and confident about yourself. Exercising has a calming influence on me. It's almost like a meditation.

What motivates you to stay fit?

It was engraved in me since childhood. I can't imagine my life without a fitness regime and enjoy motivating others about the same.

Can you share your fitness secret?

First of all, I am a teetotaler and do not smoke. I mostly have vegetarian meals and limited dairy products, but never say no to chocolates. I do not adhere to any strict diet plans as I feel they do more harm. I eat everything but in the right quantity. I do not believe in ‘six packs’ and prefer indulging in natural exercises such as squatting, bending, lunging, pushing, pulling and gait which boosts my energy levels.

Any health myth you wish to clarify?

A popular belief is that when we skip breakfast it helps us lose weight. On the contrary, a balanced breakfast helps to develop a better metabolic rate and helps in sustaining energy throughout the day.

What makes you cheat on your regular diet?

The world of chocolates can make me cheat. After all, I am a chocoholic and I love dark chocolates, milk chocolates, truffles, mousse and the list is endless. Having said that, I make it a point to brush my teeth post that so as to ensure good dental health too.

Only if our body is fit, we will be able to deliver our best in life. Daily exercise doubles our energy levels and keeps our spirits high. If you can’t find time for exercise, you will have to find time for illness.



What motivates you to stay fit?



I feel when our body is dull, life also becomes dull. This thought which my mind has been carrying since ages pushes me to take care of myself.



Can you share your fitness secrets?



I never miss a chance to go to the gym even if I wrap up work at 1 AM at night. Even while making hotel bookings, I ensure that the gym is 24 hours open. Besides, I restore to lot of green salads, avoid fried food, dinner and most importantly ensure that I sleep minimum 8 hours a day.



Any health myth, you wish to clarify?

Many say that taking health supplements can harm our health, but that is not the case.

What makes you cheat on your regular diet?

By eating unlimited Rasmalai (sweet dish).

First of all, it is a lifelong reward with which our dream of looking young and good comes true. But it demands regular hard work and there is no short cut to fitness.



What motivates you to stay fit?



The compliments from my fans. Majority of them also ask for tips for diet plans and exercise routines. This motivates me a lot to follow the fitness path.



Can you share your fitness secret?



A rich protein diet which is always home made. Even while traveling, I carry home-made salads with me to avoid eating outside. Secondly, I go to the gym daily for an hour.



Any health myth you wish to clarify?



Many youngsters feel skipping meals can help them lose weight, but it is not true. Remember, all three meals of the day which must be balanced meals contribute to about 60% to the body development and the remaining 40% is contributed by exercises.



What makes you cheat on your regular diet?



Well, I cheat on my diet once a month and I eat everything I usually do not on that particular day. It can include anything from regular street food, fast food and my favourite ladoos and jalebis.
