The Machhiwara police have booked four persons for allegedly killing a man and throwing his body into a canal on Friday.

Kishor Mandal of Garhi Tarkhana village alleged that his father Vijay Mandal had gone to meet one Pintu on June 27 where they entered into an altercation.

Kishor alleged that Pintu and his accomplices threw his father into Sirhind Canal and fled.

The police have registered a murder case against Pintu and his accomplices, identified as Sanjay Sahni, Manoj Sahni and Kaushal Sahni, all residents of Garhi Tarkhana village.

Station house officer Amardeep Singh said hunt had been launched to nab the accused.
