The Bilga police charged Paramjit Singh of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar with cheating and breach of trust. Gurmit Singh of Bilga village had complained to the Jalandhar (rural) senior superintendent of police that the accused had purchased a trailer from him and given him a cheque for `2.65 lakh that the bank had declined to honour. Station house officer (SHO) concerned DS Gill said a case under Sections 406 (breach of trust) and 420 (cheating) of the IPC had been registered.
