Aggrieved parents of the victim — father Nityanand and mother Neelam — who came to know about her death from someone on Friday approached the police alleging that their son-in-law killed his wife and destroyed the evidences.

Demanding arrest of their son-in-law, Nityanand and Neelam filed a complaint with senior officials of police, who have marked an inquiry to Salem Tabri police station.

In his complaint, Nityanand alleged that his son-in-law Vicky, who was a labourer, had an extra marital affair due to which his relationship with Gudia strained. Gudia had even started residing with them at their residence in Salem Tabri since past few months.

He said, “On March 1, Gudia’s mother-in-law passed away following which she went to her husband’s house. After cremating his mother, Vicky killed Gudia and hanged her body from a hook in the ceiling on March 2. He never informed us about her death and cremated the body secretly. Later, we came to know about the death through some relatives. When we asked Vicky, he started threatening us.”

Vicky on the other hand told the police that his wife had committed suicide.

Salem Tabri additional station house officer (SHO) Dalbir Singh said, “Following the orders, we summoned Vicky to join investigation. Vicky told us that his wife committed suicide by hanging herself from a hook in the ceiling.”
