Man held with 10gm heroin

Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) staff-2 police arrested a man after recovering 10gm heroin from his possession on Thursday. The accused has been identified as Jasleen Singh alias Prince, 25, of Guru Gobind Singh Nagar, Tibba Road.

The accused has been identified as Jasleen Singh alias Prince, 25, of Guru Gobind Singh Nagar, Tibba Road.

Sub-inspector (SI) Rajesh Kumar, incharge at CIA staff-2, said the police arrested the accused from Mayapuri Chowk following a tip-off and recovered 10gm heroin from his possession.

A case under Section 21/61/85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the accused at Basti Jodhewal police station.

SI Kumar said the accused had past criminal record, adding that four cases of liquor smuggling were already registered against him. During interrogation, the accused confessed that he switched over to drug peddling from liquor smuggling to make more money, he claimed.
