Man kills elderly father over land dispute

Gurcharan Singh, an ex-serviceman, was allegedly murdered by Manjinder Singh (40) with a sharp-edged weapon when his parents objected to the sale of two-and-a-half acres of agricultural land by him without their prior permission, police said.

He then attempted suicide, but was saved by some neighbours.

Manjinder was rushed to civil hospital from where he was shifted to Ludhiana in a serious condition, they said, adding that a case has been registered against him.
