While addressing the party workers, Tewari thanked AICC president Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr Manmaohan Singh for their support.
He said: "From opening up of passport office to initiating the cleansing of Budha Nullah and ensuring air connectivity between Ludhiana and Delhi, I have fulfilled all my promises."
Adding he said, the time had come for the Congress in Punjab to learn from it's past follies and move ahead with a united face.
He said that only Congress could defeat Congress as no other party was capable of doing so.
He added: "The SAD-BJP government has failed to tackle the problems of drug addiction and unemployment."
