Mansa Devi board rushes construction of elevators, stairs ahead of Navratras

Panchkula The board officials of Shri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine are in hurry these days to complete construction of lifts and stairs in the complex. They want it to finish the works before beginning of navratras, March 28, and also they want it to get it inaugurated by Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
“Two lifts are coming up. One would have a capacity of 20 and other would have a capacity of 10. Besides stairs are coming up. A total of Rs 1.68 crore is being spent. The work was started in September 2016,” said VG Goel, chief executive officer, CEO, Mansa Devi Board.
The lifts would take old and physically challenged devotees directly up to the sanctum sanctorum.
CM to lay foundation stone of ayush centre
During navratras, the CM would lay foundation stone for an ayush centre which is coming on 20-acre land in the temple complex. The board had provided land at a token money of Rs 1.
“A total of Rs 510 crore would be spent on the ayush centre by the central government under the union ministry of ayush. The land has been earmarked. The central government has approved the site and a formal agreement will be signed soon,” said Goel.
A sanskrit college is also coming on the campus at a cost of Rs 8.5 crore on 7-acre site.
Rs 64 lakh budget for navratras
The board has prepared a budget of Rs 64 lakh to be spent on upcoming navratras, March 28 to April 5, at Mansa Devi temple in Panchkula and Kali Mata temple at Kalka.
A total of Rs13.5 lakh is being spent on light and illumination and Rs 6 lakh on decoration with flowers. In the last Navratras also, the Board had brought 400 kg of marigold flowers to decorate the temple.
Also over Rs 15 lakh will be spent on cleanliness through Panchkula municipal corporation (MC) and Rs 2.5 lakh has been earmarked for expenditure on artistes to be engaged.
About Rs 50,000 will be spent on taking care of chief guests, dignitaries and accompanying VIPs at Mansa Dei temple and Rs 20,000 at Kali Mata temple. Also,Rs 1 lakh is spent on printing of cards and passes, which also goes to high officials.
