The kin who mostly enjoyed this priviledge were the husbands of the female councillors. Before starting with the budget speech, Gohalwaria said, "All those who are not councillors or from the media should leave the room immediately."

Councillor Deepika Bhalla's husband Sunny Bhalla, Sushma Mehta's husband Parminder Mehta, and Amanpreet Ghayal's father-in-law Prithpal Singh Ghayal left the room after the mayor's orders. However the husband of SAD councillor Beeran Bedi, Harpreet Singh Bedi, sat through the session.

Meanwhile, Gohalwaria said that it was an interim budget in which income expected from property tax was not included as the unit value was yet to be finalised. Another session would be called to present the final figures, he told the house.
