Taking a strong note of illegal advertisements displayed on central verge of Jan Marg, Madhya Marg (V-1), Dakshin Marg ( V-2) and Sukhna Path ( V-3) by the art and heritage, director of cultural affairs, UT administration, municipal corporation commissioner Bhawna Garg has ordered for its removal.

In a letter to the director cultural affairs, UT administration, commissioner has stated that those displays were not allowed under laid down procedures of advertisement control order 1954. She has ordered to remove the same immediately.
Chandigarh art and culture affairs department has put advertisements for the festival starting from December 3 to 7.
It is pertinent here to mention that on September 24, UT administration flouted rules by putting up more than 30 hoardings without permission on the roads.
On the other hand, Chandigarh municipal corporation began the drive to remove them, but was forced to stop by the officers of UT administration.
UT administration director of cultural affairs has put up hoarding on all the above said roads without permission for the three-day Chandigarh theatre festival which began on September 25 at Tagore Theatre, Sector 18, Chandigarh.
According to the rule, UT administration has prohibited any kind of display of hoardings on V-1, V-2, V-3 roads. The orders were issued around a decade back by the then finance secretary
