According to the MC officials, notices were issued to the person concerned, but no documents could be provided, showing valid permission.
The complaint was filed by RTI activist Rohit Sabharwal, who claimed that no permission was taken to install these mobile towers. The towers were installed a few years back, he added.
A team of the MC visited the building to seal both mobile towers.
A resident, requesting anonymity, said the MC should check the status of other mobile towers in the city and similar action should be taken against other defaulters. The MC had sealed some mobile towers in the past also.
MC's assistant town planner (zone D) Rajinder Sharma said, “We received a complaint about these towers and had sent notices to the building owner, who failed to show valid documents. Thus, the towers were sealed.”
However, the Municipal Corporation official claimed to have no information about the status of other mobile towers.
On being asked about the mobile towers in Zone D, Sharma said, “I don't have any information on how many mobile towers are functioning without permission here. I remain busy in other official works due to which I could not check the status of all towers.”
