Municipal Corporation starts drive to clean canals

Under the directions of Government of India, Municipal Corporation has continued the cleanliness drive along the water bodies including Isdhawan Canal, Gill Bridge and areas near Budha Nullah here on Saturday.

Under the directions of Government of India, Municipal Corporation has continued the cleanliness drive along the water bodies including Isdhawan Canal, Gill Bridge and areas near Budha Nullah here on Saturday.

Rishipal Singh, additional commissioner of MC said, “We have started the cleanliness drive from past several days, areas near water bodies. The areas which are covered with garbage dump and other polluted things have been cleaned during the drive.”

Charanjit Singh Uppal, health officer of MC said, “We are abiding the directions of government of India for cleaning the areas near water bodies.

This part of drive also comes under Swacch Bharat. We will continue this drive until the areas will not be cleaned. We have started cleaning these areas as numerous complaints were raised up by the residents of these areas.”
