Medical store raid: 145 boxes of banned drugs seized in Goniana

The zonal drug licensing authority of the Punjab health department seized 145 boxes of banned medicines from a medical store in Goniana in Bathinda district. The teams of five drug inspectors from three districts raided the medical store owned by Rajiv Garg, a resident of Bathinda. Harjinder Singh, who led the inspection team, said that around 63 types of medicines falling in Schedule-H drug categories, which included narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

He said the owner of the store didn't have a proper license to sell these medicines also. "We will register a case under the NDPS Act and will him in the court of thechief judicial magistrate on Saturday," he said. Other team members included drug inspectors Sonia Gupta from Faridkot, Amandeep Verma from Muktsar, Ishant Priya Singla and Sheeshal Mittal from Bathinda.
