Milkha Singh Unveils his own Statue in Ludhiana

On the fourth and final day of Mata Sahibkaur Jarkhar Sports Festival, the wait of hundreds of sports lovers finally ended on a bright sunny day when the legend flying Sikh ‘Milkha Singh’

On the fourth and final day of Mata Sahibkaur Jarkhar Sports Festival, the wait of hundreds of sports lovers finally ended on a bright sunny day when the legend flying Sikh ‘Milkha Singh’ finally paid a visit to unveil his own Statue in Ludhiana.

He was welcomed by a procession of band and the dignitaries present who took him to the stage area.
The legend unveiled his own 27 feet statue (above the ground level) at the entrance of the academy.
The zeal among the onlookers and atmosphere at the occasion was astounding as the legend took
to the centrestage.

On being asked to express his feelings on the movie, ‘Bhag Milkha Bhag’, the legend replies, “I am grateful to the entire cast and crew of the movie who brought my life to the curtain, I thank Divya Dutta and Farhan Akhtar with director, producer with entire crew of the movie. Why wouldn’t someone be happy if the life of somebody is highlighted so beautifully on-screen.”

When asked that how does it feel to be honored with a statue to his name at the academy, Singh said, “I am here today, tomorrow I won’t be here, it will serve as a huge source of inspiration for the generations to come.”

Singh expressed it through a share, “Shaheedon Ki Chitaon Par Lagenge Har Baras Mele Watan Par Mar
Mitne Walo Ka Bas Yahi Ab Baaki Nishaan Hoga.”
