16-yr-old kills mother in Mansa ‘as she denied money for drugs’

A 16-year-old boy killed his mother on Monday evening after she allegedly denied him money for buying drugs, police said.

A 16-year-old boy killed his mother on Monday evening after she allegedly denied him money for buying drugs, police said.

“The accused Simarjit Singh is an addict and was arrested on Wednesday from Kot Dharmu village,” station house officer (SHO) Chanan Singh said . “The victim’s husband was away when the incident took place. Simarjit was addicted to synthetic drugs and when his mother refused his demand for money, he shot her with his father’s gun,” he added.

The victim’s father, who is the complainant, alleged that Simarjit used to frequently harass his mother regarding money for drugs.

The incident comes to light just a day after two youths were found dead in Joga village after alleged overdose of drugs.
