Mittal urges Centre to form team for cancer causes

Punjab health minister Madan Mohan Mittal has urged the Centre to form a team of experts for ascertaining the causes of cancer in the country. According to Mittal, the health department had conducted a survey and it had proved to be very useful to determine the number of cancer cases in Punjab.

In a communication to the Union health minister, Mittal said that the incidence of cancer was increasing in the country and he had requested the Union health minister to constitute a team of experts to control the dreaded disease.

According to Mittal, the health department had conducted a survey and it had proved to be very useful to determine the number of cancer cases in Punjab.

The minister also said that the state government would provide Rs 1.5 lakh for the treatment of each cancer patient in Punjab.
