Modi to be India's next PM: Shivraj Chouhan

Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who was in Amritsar to pay obeisance at the Golden Temple on Sunday, said Narendra Modi will be the next prime minister of the country.

Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who was in Amritsar to pay obeisance at the Golden Temple on Sunday, said Narendra Modi will be the next prime minister of the country.

Avoiding further comments or talk with the media, the MP chief minister maintained that since he had come to offer prayers, he did not feel that talking about politics or other issues.

When insisted by mediapersons, Shivraj said, "I can just say that Narendra Modi will become the next prime minister of our country. I always wanted to come to the Golden Temple. Coming here was a great pleasure. I have prayed for the betterment of people and the country."

After paying obeisance at the Golden Temple, Chouhan went to Jallianwala Bagh and also paid obeisance at Durgiana Temple.

Chouhan was welcomed by the local Akali and BJP leadership. Cabinet minister Bikram Majithia welcomed the MP chief minister at the airport whereas local bodies minister Anil Joshi, chief parliamentary secretary (CPS) Inderbir Bolaria, Baldev Chawla and others were also present.

The Madhya Pradesh chief minister, who had come with his wife Sadhna Singh, was honoured by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).
